  1. Balloon Titanic “The Unpoppable Ship” – HigherHopeBalloons.com – Grapevine Balloon Artist – DFW

April 18, 2012 by Jason Vaughn

Last week was the centennial anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. I was very happy to join the Christian Boys and Men Titanic Society for a weekend remembering those that gave their live for “women and children first.”

Of course I had to leave my mark on the event so I created a giant balloon Titanic costume.

I hadn’t really planned on creating the Titanic so I settled to create the bow of the ship (which would have filled with water and tipped downward but you get the drift).

It was a lot of fun to create and many of the kids came up and helped blow up balloons including some of the Duggar boys from the series “19 Kids and Counting.” What a great and sweet family they are.

For more sculptures or to see my balloon shows (including a gospel balloon show great for VBS) please visit http://www.HigherHopeBalloons.com

Thanks to Shad Eash and Josiah Einwechter of http://www.TitanicFilmProject.com for putting this together.

  2. Balloon Art Photo of the Day: Balloon Stork with Baby Girl Delivery – Dallas Balloon Deliveries – DFW

February 4, 2012 by Jason Vaughn

Here is a balloon stork I created for a delivery for a new mom of a baby girl.

I used a 3′ balloon to make it float in mid-air and look like it was coming in for a landing.

If you have someone special giving birth then make sure you order this special delivery to wow and congratulate them.

One of my most popular pieces is this fun ride in balloon car. I made this one to look like the old Joker Mobile from Batman.

December 29, 2011 by Jason Vaughn

This was a really fun pirate themed birthday party I did this year. For the birthday boy I made a pirate mask, sword, and pirate ship. Not only did the birthday boy love it, but all the other guests got a big kick out of it as well.

  6. Balloon Art Photo of the Day: Fantasy Christmas Tree – Dallas Balloon Decorations – DFW

December 22, 2011 by Jason Vaughn

I don’t remember who made this fantasy flower balloon Christmas tree, but I took this photo at the FLOAT Balloon Decorator Convention in Cincinnati, OH. It is exquisite and will last much longer than an ordinary balloon sculpture. Perfect for a table centerpiece.

  9. Emotional Balloon Art – Dallas Halloween Costumes – DFW

October 27, 2011 by Jason Vaughn

The vast majority of the time that I work an event I have a long line of people willing to wait to receive a balloon. Most of the time (unless Elmo is there) I have the largest group of people, of all ages, surrounding me.

So why is that? Is it really because what I’m making is really that cool? I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong I make some pretty amazing sculptures and love make new ones off the top of my head, but that isn’t the main reason.

The reason people really wait up to two hours at large events for customized balloons (yep, that has really happened) is because it creates an emotional connection.

For kids it is fun and mysterious. For adults it is a reminder of their childhood imaginations.

Usually the goal is create happy and joyful emotions. Even balloon decor helps bring about those emotional responses of grandeur and elegance.

Last week though I had a goal to bring about a different emotion, fear. I have a friend that is on the very scared of spiders. Now it isn’t to the point of arachnophobia (then it’d be cruel) but she freaks out quite a bit about them.

So another friend had the idea of wearing a giant spider costume for a party. We looked around, but couldn’t find one so instead I told him I would make one. He wasn’t hesitant as first about whether I could actually make it scary, but I convinced him.

I ended up designing and building him a giant black widow costume. It was a lot of fun to make and it turned out great. I loved it and our friend was definitely creeped out about the costume.

I must admit that I was quite proud of myself. It is rare that I get to invoke fear and tears. I guess you’d say it is like the thrill of horror movies. Hmm maybe Stephen King will call me for his next film. :)

If you’d like invoke some intense emotions for your next event then call (314) 346-2241 today!
