  1. I won Honorable Mention at Dallas Comic-Con for my Balloon Costume

May 20, 2013 by Jason Vaughn

I had a great time at Dallas Comic-Con this weekend. I went as three different Avengers superheroes from the Marvel Universe. I had Thor, The Inflatable Hulk, and Captain America Balloon Costumes.

On Saturday I entered the comic con costume contest as “The Inflatable Hulk” (a play on The Incredible Hulk). I was so surprised by the audience reaction and I had a blast. I won the Honorable Mention prize, but since there wasn’t a second or third place prize I’ll just claim second place. :)

A really cool custom Dalek from Doctor Who won the contest. It really deserved that win. It was incredible.

The whole convention was amazing and I can’t wait for A-kon in two weeks and WhoFest in November.

I really love what I do and when I can do it geeky then it is even better.

  2. Catholic Balloon Rosary – DFW Balloon Decorations

May 2, 2013 by Jason Vaughn

I created another first yesterday. I was asked by a son to create a large Catholic rosary to be released in honor of the one year anniversary of his mother’s passing.

I’ve always said good balloon sculptures should be emotional. They don’t just need to be happy or silly, but they can bring about something deeper as well.

Religious symbolism is important to so many people and expresses their relationships, not only with God, but with one another as well.

Whatever you’re looking to celebrate or honor give Higher Hope Balloons a call and I look forward to creating the perfect idea for you.

  3. Imagine a World Without Balloons

April 27, 2013 by Jason Vaughn

A democrat from Georgia recently gave speech on the floor of Congress about why the government needs to end the sequester’s effects on helium. He stated “Imagine a world without balloons” and went on to talk about how sad it would be if we didn’t have balloons for children’s birthday parties.

Well, for those of you that are concerned I want to give you a bit of hope. While many balloon artist do work primarily with helium, some of us that been at work diligently creating other fantastic balloon decoration designs that are stand alone. We certainly would love to have every resource available it is my belief that with a little effort we can overcome anything, including a helium shortage.

So if you’re looking for exciting and creative balloon decor please make sure to give me a call at 314-346-2241.

  4. Superhero Birthday Party!

April 24, 2013 by Jason Vaughn

I received a call yesterday and it kinda got me excited! The lady called to book me for her son’s super hero birthday party. Now, I do a lot of different themed parties. I’ve done clownsElmo, circus, SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, Princess, Cowboy, Pirate, and a ton of other themed parties, but it has been years since I’ve gotten to do a super hero party.

The best part is that the kid is a big Superman fan. I’m a total geek and I can’t wait for the new “Man of Steel” movie to come out. I’ve been reading comics for 20 years now and yes, you are allowed to mock my nerdiness. So I’m busy working on some balloon designs. Here are some I’ve used in the past:

I made this for DC Comics New 52. The girl holding it was smiling the entire time except when I snapped the photos.

As you can I tried to represent the DC Comics and Marvel Universe. I’m a big Avengers fan as well. I can’t wait for this party!

Whatever your birthday party theme give me a call and I guarantee I will come up with some awesome creations just for you!

  5. Family Night at Freebirds World Burrito in Lewisville, TX

April 18, 2013 by Jason Vaughn

I’m having such a great time performing at Freebirds in Lewisville, TX. Not only do I love the burrito bowl, but I adore the atmosphere. It has a great edgy style. There is a giant Statue of Liberty on a motorcycle breaking through the wall and tin foil creations everywhere. Tim, the manager is a great guy and I have a blast with the staff.

I’m there from 6-8 every third Tuesday of the month and you’re always welcome to stop by for a great meal and some balloons. Kid’s Night is always fantastic!

I’m very grateful for this referral letter from Texas Rep. Rick Green of Wall Builders and Patriot Academy.

    Jason,

Thank you so much for the AMAZING work you did for the Patriot Academy 2012 Graduation Dinner! It is beyond comprehension how you were able to put together such a remarkable display in such a short period of time.

You captured the essence of our dinner and added so much to the atmosphere created for the attendees and the graduates!

Thank you for your professionalism and creativity!

    Blessings!

    Rick Green

  8. Thank you St. Louis!

August 23, 2012 by Jason Vaughn

Unless I schedule some last minute booking I performed my last show in the area as a St. Louis resident. I’m sure I might do a few more as I plan visits back to the area, but no more as a full time part of this community.

I remember driving into St. Louis for the first time on Jan. 16, 2008. I came here primarily to be part of a great little church, Rockport Baptist Church in Arnold, MO. I quickly became involved in community.

I have been so blessed to be here. I have made great friends, had amazing adventures, and performed for the best audiences on the planet. I’ve becoming a Cardinals fan and grown to love hockey (Let’s Go Blues!).

They say St. Louis is a dying city. Well in many ways it may be, but I still think she has some amazing life in her yet. The food, the museums, the arts are all phenomenal. From watching my friend Juggling Jeff at Shakespeare in the Park to roasting at the Muny it will be memories that last a lifetime.

You have a lot going for you St. Louis. I hope one day you’ll embrace that. You see, the one glaring thing I believe this city needs more than anything else is hope. Sure, it is a word abused since the ’08 presidential campaign, but I still hold that hope is one of the most powerful forces we have a people.

Hope turns situations around. Hope lets us see a brighter tomorrow. Hope tells us to rebuild even when we lose everything. Hope turns victims into victors and allows losers to let loose. Hope can change an individual and that individual can change this city.

That is my wish for you St. Louis. Become a city of hope.

    See you soon,

    Jason Vaughn, Dallas Bound

  9. Patriot Academy Banquet Balloon Decor – Dalloon Balloon Decorations – DFW

August 8, 2012 by Jason Vaughn

I had a fantastic time at Patriot Academy in Austin, TX. It is a week long mock congress where students learn how the political process works. I also had the privilege of decorating the final night banquet. This was a great honor as Rafael Cruz, father of Texas Senate GOP candidate Ted Cruz, was presented with the Torch of Freedom award. Several Wounded Warriors were also honored as they helped pass the torch to the next generation. Among the veterans was a 92 year old who served in World War II. Thank God for men willing to put their life on the line for freedom.
